How it all started!

In Brazil, I was already an educator, I work with children since I was fourteen, helping in the school that my mother had for many years, and it was through this contact with the little ones that I realized how much I am passionate about early childhood education.

I arrived in Australia in 2011, already thirty-one years old, alone, without speaking a word in English and very scared, the only things I had with me was the dream and the curiosity of having an experience overseas, outside my comfort zone, far from my family and my lifetime friends. I was looking for the new, the challenge, a journey to reconnect and find myself again.

Moving away from everything you know is not an easy thing but I felt in my heart that I needed to change my life, I wanted to see what life was like outside my “bubble” and that’s how I made my decision. The student life here was extremely challenging, as it is for most of us immigrants, but this whole challenge showed me how much I wanted to stay. Here I realized that I could get what I wanted, that everything would depend on me, my dedication and my focus, and today, I proudly call it home, and I love Australia.

I was a cleaner, waitress and had bosses who never paid for my hard work. I was very scared, and I cried so many times alone. But I believe that all those challenges made me stronger and realize of where I wanted to be! In 2015 I decided that I would like to return to studies and so I enrolled in the “Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care” course and started my process in childcare centers. I worked in several centers, some incredible, others not so much, and then I decided that I would work as a full time nanny, as I missed the most direct contact with the children, to be able to express my affection and love to them in an explicit, more truthful way.

I worked with many families, many children with whom I keep in touch until today, and I fell even more in love with the little ones. So, as a sensitive person that I am, I felt once again in my heart that my mission is to touch as many children and families as I can through environmental awareness, calmness, love, respect for others, nature, animals and themselves, so that we have more aware, more self-confident and happy adults on a more harmonious planet. And then CC’s Eco Family Day Care was born with the help of some very important people to the project, but, above all, through all the strength and resilience that I have and that I have had throughout all these years in Australia.

I got my permanent residency in 2019 and here I am, still committed to helping the planet through education and believing in my dreams and I hope you will also continue to search for yours! If you are looking for a place for your children to feel the joy of growing up while developing their critical side, be sure to look for CC’s Eco Family Day Care! It will be a pleasure to take care of the little ones and contribute to their development through activities such as gardening, recycling, composting, yoga and meditation.
